If you own rights in a work that someone has minted or listed on the TCC NFT Marketplace without your permission, this page tells you how to ask us to remove it from our interface, and how a seller can dispute that removal.
1. Who can file
A notice may be filed by the owner of the copyright, trademark or other right, or by a person authorised to act on the owner's behalf. If you are acting as an agent, say who you represent and in what capacity.
If your complaint is not about intellectual property — a scam, impersonation, or prohibited content — use the in-app Report button on the listing instead, or see the Content & Moderation Policy.
2. What your notice must include
Send your notice to [email protected] with the subject line "NFT takedown notice". Incomplete notices delay handling. Include all of the following:
- — Identify the work. Describe the copyrighted work or trademark you own, with a link to the original (your portfolio, registration record, publication date, or earlier public posting).
- — Identify the listing. The collection address and token id, and the marketplace URL if you have it. A screenshot alone is not enough — we need the on-chain identifiers to act on the right item.
- — Evidence of your rights. Registration number if any, or evidence that you published the work first.
- — Your contact details. Full name, organisation if applicable, email address, and postal address.
- — Good-faith statement. "I have a good-faith belief that the use of the material described above is not authorised by the rights owner, its agent, or the law."
- — Accuracy statement. "The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury I am the rights owner or authorised to act on the rights owner's behalf."
- — Signature. Physical or electronic signature of the rights owner or authorised agent.
3. What happens next
- — Acknowledgement within 3 business days. We confirm receipt and tell you if anything is missing.
- — Decision target: 10 business days from a complete notice. Complex or disputed claims can take longer; we will tell you if that happens.
- — If we act, we hide the listing from our interface, unpin the media from our own IPFS infrastructure where we host it, and notify the seller with a copy of your notice — including your contact details, since the seller needs them to respond.
- — We record the action against the seller's wallet for the purposes of our repeat-infringer policy.
4. Counter-notice (for sellers)
If your listing was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or that you hold the rights, send a counter-notice to [email protected] with the subject "NFT counter-notice", including:
- — the collection address and token id, and the wallet address that listed it;
- — your explanation and evidence — proof of authorship, a licence, or an explanation of why the use is permitted;
- — your full name, email address and postal address;
- — the statement: "Under penalty of perjury, I have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.";
- — your physical or electronic signature.
We forward complete counter-notices to the original complainant. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they are pursuing the matter legally, we may restore the listing. We are not obliged to restore a listing that also breaches the Content & Moderation Policy for a separate reason.
5. Repeat infringers
Wallets and accounts that are the subject of repeated valid infringement notices are permanently banned from the marketplace interface, and any linked TCC account may be terminated under the Terms of Service.
6. False claims
Filing a knowingly false takedown notice — to remove a competitor's legitimate listing, for example — may expose you to liability for damages and costs under applicable law, and will result in us disregarding your future notices. We do not act as a judge of ownership disputes; where a claim is genuinely contested, the parties must resolve it between themselves or in court.
7. What we cannot do
- — We cannot delete or alter a token on the blockchain.
- — We cannot remove media from IPFS nodes we do not control, or from third-party gateways and caches.
- — We cannot stop someone trading the token by interacting with the on-chain market program directly.
- — We cannot reverse a completed sale, or recover payments already made.
- — We cannot compel a seller to transfer a token to you.
